Recently I had the opportunity to keep my current job while I moved to a different city. On a first stage I would be working from home whilst looking for another person to join me.

A lot of people would love to have the same opportunity, but I can tell you that is not that easy. And by the way, "working from home" is not a code phrase for "How I met your mother marathon".

The following presentation shows the pros and cons after 3 months of my telecommuting life.

It’s been more than a year since I wrote the post above. Now I’m full-time freelancer, and I work from home most of the time. I even have my own project where I work with my other team mates remotely.

So, now working from home is great? Not really. The thing that annoyed me the most with the previous experience was the 9-to-5 and the fact that I HAD to work from home.

Now, being a freelancer, I can work from wherever I want, whenever I want. And that makes a LOT of difference!
